BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT is the work of Chester Hawkins of Washington DC. Since 1986, BSI has produced music that combines aspects of noise, drone, Krautrock, sample-plundering, dark ambient, and kosmische electronics to produce a multi-layered feast for the brain. Hawkins describes his music as "mean-spirited euphoria," an improvised form of psychedelia with a glaze of paranoid tension.

Released by DC Sonic Circuits to support the 2011 DCSC festival of experimental music. Blue Sausage Infant's contribution (Gemüsemaschine) is a dense motorik overdrive number with fuzzed-out bass mantras, reckless keyboards, and circular rhythms.
Compilation also features Borborites, Music From the Film, Safe Fast & Effective, Pilesar (who also contributed percussion to the "Negative Space" LP), Violet, TL0741+Anthony Pirog, Nine Strings Trio, STYLUS, Insect Factory, and Janel Leppin.
It's a brilliant summary of the current DC experimental music scene, pressed on 180g vinyl. One for the ages.
